Greenhouse Foundation

An Elder came to me a few days ago and asked how the greenhouse was going. I explained to him what had happened with the logs and he said that I should go and sit on the foundation and pray.  He said to burn sage, offer tobacco and ask the land for help.  That afternoon I went to the site and did what the Elder asked.  I sat on the foundation and prayed and cried, not knowing what else to do.  I just kept asking the land to help me and for permission to move forward with the project.

Two days later I received a call from NPI Timber, a company who runs a chipping operation out of the new deep water dock at Port Mackenzie. They heard about our situation and wanted to help by donating the logs to the project.  I almost could not believe my ears; they were going to give us the logs!  Ahh, the power of prayer and another confirmation of the generosity of people in this community.  I went to the Elder and thanked him for reminding me how important it is to ask for help and to pray.

NPI delivered the logs on August 9.  With help from Burt Shaginoff volunteers have once again saved the day and now our greenhouse is finished.
