Higher Education Scholarships:
This Higher Education program includes grants for training conducted in an institutional setting designed to provide Chickaloon Native Village’s Tribal Citizens with degree training. It may also include training designed to enhance the employability of individuals by upgrading their educational attainment level, by providing a necessary certificate.
Grants will be provided to eligible applicants who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree-granting program of an accredited college or university. A number of factors will be taken into consideration when making selections for scholarship awards including, prior access to training/education services and a well-rounded financial package. If desired, the participant can appeal to the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council. The decisions of the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council are final.
Guidelines:
Higher Education grants are available to Chickaloon Tribal Citizens only.
Higher Education grants may be made available to all Chickaloon Tribal Citizens, regardless of their area of residence.
There is no income test for eligibility for Higher Education services.
Students are required to maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) during the school year.
Whenever possible education will be concurrent with skill training or other employment activities.
The amount a student is eligible for will be determined by the amount of their unmet need, and will be approved by the Chickaloon Village Finance Committee.
